Let me just get to the point. My cats are idiots, but one is much more of a moron than the other. He inhales food as if he will never be fed again. Idiot. Well, I was desperate for a solution and this is what I came across. My small idiot son went from vomiting 2-3 times every other week to.....I don't know, I refuse to count but it has been a long time now. He primarily ate from regular bowls on the floor so I'm going to consider this a win.BUT JUST KEEP IN MIND: If you just clean with a sponge, it is very hard to clean and get in between the little fish bone details. Very hard. And if you drop this, it will almost certainly shatter.

Excellent product! Sturdy porcelain, nice wood frame to keep the food at a proper height. It's expensive, but it has been worth it to stop the vomiting problem my cat had from eating too fast! Highly recommend!

This is very good quality and sturdy. The plate is heavy ceramic and the stand is wooden and strong.I feed my two cats dry food exclusively that I leave out, so it’s always available.One of my cats like to engorge herself, run around really fast, then puke undigested cat food-so I’m constantly racing the Roomba to get to it first. (The Roomba is *amazing* and has changed my life but when it detects cat puke it rolls around on it mercilessly, desperately trying to vacuum it up but grinding it into the carpet and coating its innards and wheels in the process, then once it’s satisfied, tracks it around the house.)I bought another “slow feeder?plastic bowl set before this one and it was junk (and my cat was still puking regularly.)I would love to say this one stopped the problem but, realistically, it decreased it by maybe 50%. It’s okay-I’ll take it. My cat is just an idiot.(Note: I imagine this would work better with wet food. The dry food sits on top of the ridges so its difficult to truly slow down your cat’s feeding time and my cats won’t eat the pieces inside the ridges…go figure. Wet food could be spread around and the cat could then lick it from the plate.)TL; DR: Great quality. Works okay with dry food, probably better with wet food. Buy a Roomba yesterday but don’t let it near your cat’s puke.

I love these bowls, my cats love them too. I have noticed a decrease in them becoming sick after eating as well. I love that they are ceramic makes cleaning them much easier. The little fish are spaced out just enough that they fit a good bit of food and the flat pasta bowel like design eliminates whisker fatigue. The wooden stands are sturdy and support the bowls well. I recommend them highly!

I wanted to get an elevated food dish for my cats as it is said that they eat and digest better that way. I also wanted something that would slow down their eating as I have one who eats too fast and throws up and another who is a bit chunky because he doesn't know when to stop eating. I was hoping by eating slower maybe he'd become full before overeating. I'm not sure if I can tell a difference for him or not quite yet. My biggest con about this product is that I wish it was a little bit taller. With this dish they are still bent over some so I'm not sure if it is effective or not for what I wanted. But I do feel like it is better than the bowl they had before. Plus my speed eater has been throwing up less. So it has definitely helped some! It is also pretty cute.
